Water purification techniques will be the topic of Bethel Township's free August emergency preparedness class. It will be held Thursday, August 17th at 7:00 p.m. in the training room of station 51, located at 3333 Lake Rd.
Clean water is the most critical resorce during a serious emergency situation, so this class will help prepare you for any "just in case" situation. Dave Arnold of Medway will be the instructor, and Carol Arnold will relate their story of loss from flood and what it's like to be surrounded by water you cannot use.
September's class will teach techniques for alternative methods of cooking. When the power goes out you may need to use up some of the food that's thawing in your freezer. Whether you do that on your trusty grill, in a sun oven or a rocket stove, or over an old fashioned campfire, if your stove doesn't work you'll need some options. Come learn about these methods and more. These classes are open to the public and there is no charge.
